We were met by riders from Kearney FD in Elm Creek, NE and lead back to their station on picture perfect back roads winding along miles of corn fields, we checked into our hotel and then went to the fire station and prepared  supper. Kearney has one of the most progressive departments for training and equipment, filling a 4500 gallon tanker (tender) in 66 seconds is impressive, I don't care who you are ... it's impressive. We woke the next morning to read that we had just missed a storm in Elm Creek that dumped softball size hail..Wow.
